Since 2002, the founders of the Laboratory have gradually developed the part of the information system of the Faculty of Science, that supports the work of the Student Services, and later they have developed the ceomplete integrated information system of Faculty of Science. Other individual and legal bodies have shown interest for developed information system of this kind, so the parts of it are implemented at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad. The main tasks of members of the Laboratory do is the maintenance and further development of the information system of the Faculty of Science, as well as maintenance and development of the segments of information systems that are installed at the other faculties.
Information System of the Faculty of Science brings portfolio of secure, reliable and advanced business applications. The main subsystems of the information system of the Faculty of Science are:
- Student Services,
- Accounting,
- Human Resources Department,
- Self-evaluation,
- Web services.
Laboratory for the Development of Information Systems od the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad is a laboratory for providing services and expertise.
The scope of the Laboratory’s work is the individual projects, which include providing services and expertise, information systems development, implementation and maintenance of information systems, information systems integration, maintenance and services related to server systems, support and assistance in the field of information technology, support and assistance in supplying with the computer equipment and software, providing services to interested users in the field of Laboratory activities, organizing training courses and updating of knowledge in the field of information technology, conducting researches related to the development of information technology and of the above-mentioned systems that the Laboratory manages, organization of thematic meetings, seminars and workshops and conferences.
