About us

Department of Mathematics and Informatics was established in 1963, and since then has been one of the leading teaching and research institutions, first in the field of mathematics, and then computing as well.


Through nine accredited study programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, all of which are consisted of integrated units of knowledge and skills, the teaching process has been made completely in accord to the requirements of modern professional challenges, and the latest scientific research trends.


Apart from the large number of national and international projects in various fields of mathematics, applied mathematics, teaching system and information science, the process of scientific research is also conducted through the work of specialized centers and laboratories at the Department.


In this way, by following the global trends in science and education, Department of Mathematics and Informatics represents a modern European institution whose teachers, graduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral students are present and recognized in the international scientific community.
