Conditions of registration

The legitimacy to compete to enroll in the first year of studies  have the candidates with a degree in four year high-school education. In addition, it is necessary to pass an entrance exam.

General topics in mathematics will occur as questions at the entrance exam, in order to allow entry to candidates with different profiles. There are 5 problems to be solved, the last of which is, by tradition, elective for candidates for Informatic – it is possible to do a combinatorial problem or a simple task of programming, with the programming language of choice. There are collections of  problems for the preparation of entrance exam, as well as free preparatory classes held by teachers and teaching assistants of the Faculty. The results of the entrance exam can be found, as soon as they are ready, on the website of the Faculty.

The selection of candidates for enrollment to the first year shall be based on the ranking list which is compiled by the total number of points of each candidate, according to scores at the entrance exam and in compliance with the overall success achieved in high school. A candidate can win a maximum of 100 points.

The overall success in high school means the sum of average grades in all subjects in the first, second, third and fourth grade multiplied by 2. On this basis, the candidate can win at least 16 and a maximum of 40 points. Overall success in high school is rounded to two decimal places.

The result achieved by the candidate at the entrance exam is evaluated from 0 to 60 points. The Faculty organizes entrance examination regardless of the number of candidates for admission to the first year. In order to obtain the legitimacy of ranking the candidate has to attain a minimum of 14 points at the entrance exam.

A candidate who has, as a student of third or fourth year of high school, won one of the first three awards at the national level competition organized by the Ministry of Education, or at the International Competition in Mathematics (Informatics), does not need to take the entrance examination. These candidates will be awarded the maximum number of points.

Based on the success achieved in the high school and on the results on entrance exam a unique list will be formes for each program.

The Faculty determines a unique ranking list of the candidates who are funded from the budget as well as the list of self-funded students. The ranking on the unique list and the total number of points determines whether the candidate may be enrolled in the first year of studies, and whether they will be financed from the budget or they will need to pay tuition fee as a self-financed student.

A candidate may be enrolled into the program as a student funded from budget in the case that has been ranked on a unique ranking list, down to the approved number of candidates for  registration from the budget and that he/she has at least 51 points. A candidate may be admitted as a self-financing student if he/she has ranked on unique ranking list up to the approved number for admission of self-financing students and that he/she has at least 30 points. If a candidate who qualifies for admission does not register on time, faculty will write in another candidate instead, by the order of the single ranking.

The citizens of the Republic of Serbia who have completed high school education abroad can register regardless of the number of applicants envisaged for enrollment, that is, up  the number of 2% of the number of students set for the registration from the budget or up to 2% of the number of self-financing students.

For double-subject teachers teaching of science the common rank list is made.
